On August 8, 2020 the council of the South Sudanese community of Manitoba Inc. (COSSCOM) organized a community outreach BBQ at the Assiniboine Park. It was an event to bring the community together in a different atmosphere to to reduce the stress caused by COVID-19, and also to reach out to the community about COVID-19.
The event was well attended by all group ages, kids, youth, adults, seniors, men, women. It was a great event and those who were in attendance had great time, free masks, and hand sanitizers were distributed.
